Privacy policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
This policy explains what information TallyCheck collects on this website and in the TallyCheck software, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
TallyCheck makes accounting software for businesses, available as TallyCheck Desktop and TallyCheck Web. You can reach us about privacy at hello@tallycheck.io.
2. Information on this website
The contact and sign-up forms on this site open your own email app; nothing you type is stored by the website. When you send the email, we receive what you chose to include — usually your name, company, email address, phone number and message.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Like any website, the service that hosts it may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) to keep it running and secure.
3. Information in the software
Your books — customers, vendors, invoices, bank lines, employees and payroll — are stored where you run TallyCheck: on your own computer for Desktop, or on the server used for your Web account. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.
We only look at your books if you ask us for help and give us access, and only for as long as that help needs. Employee documents and connection credentials are stored encrypted.
4. How we use information
- to answer your questions and set up your account;
- to provide, support and improve TallyCheck;
- to send you messages about your account, such as billing and important changes;
- to meet legal obligations.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run TallyCheck (for example email and hosting), under agreements that protect it, or when the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep messages and account details while you are a customer and for as long afterwards as the law or our records require. Your books stay under your control; you can export them and remove them when you leave.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or stop receiving non-essential messages, by writing to hello@tallycheck.io. Depending on where you live (for example in California), you may have further rights, and we will honor them.
8. Children
TallyCheck is software for businesses and is not meant for children under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be emailed to customers.
